Winter 2011 - Prepping the Garden

We started by clearing out a the land of the old plants, saving what we could.

Our goal this year was to develop an ORGANIC garden, using only safe products without harmful chemicals. We made weed killer using dish soap, vinegar and salt.

After we got rid of the grass and weeds, the FFA (Future Farmers of America) helped by donating manure and nitrates to till into the garden. We then layed plastic edging, built rows for the vegetables and sprinkled grass seeds into the walking space.
